Gallery Update

I just update the gallery section of my site with my latest work.  The theme title for the new work is "The Cruelty of Children".  Unfortunately Internet Explorer is not displaying the gallery  correctly.  hopefully I'll be able to figure out what the problem is and get it fixed.  If you happen to be using Firefox  you should be able to get an idea of how the work will look as a group from the thumbnail page.

I finally got my first proposal in the mail yesterday and true to my nature I pretty much left it till the last minute.  I just kept stretching out the work until I only had a couple of days to get it finished, then rushed like a madman to get everything together.  At least I'm now ready to send out more proposals over the next few weeks.

I find it hard to believe that I've been working on this project almost nonstop since July and I'm only half finished to whole thing.  At least over the next couple of weeks I can slow down a bit, but I still have a lot of work to do.

Child 6.jpg                                              Here's another piece that I just finished.  On a couple of them I experimented with a more limited pallet and I like the results.  Unfortunately for this project  I need a bit more variety, but I want to come back to this in the future.

Howard: These look great. I use Mozilla Firefox, having gotten disgusted long ago with all the stupid pop-up ads on Explorer. This body of work reminds me of Lord of the Flies, (with girls, of course). Or jurors on some eerie trial - like Children of the Corn! There was also a Star Trek episode (the orignal series) where a planet was ruled by children, and they killed all of the adults.

Good luck with your proposal. If you show this body of work in a gallery, maybe I'll get to Vancouver to see it in person!

Those are good comparisons. In the last two though the children were being controlled by evil forces and in Lord of the Flies the children were seperated from civlization. A japanese "Lord of the Flies" type movie called Battle Royale is another good one, although in that movie the children were forced into their evil deads. It's interesting how in movies evil children are under the influence of some outside source. Well, with the exception of Damiem in The Omen, but I'm not sure if the spawn of satan can be considered a child.

I've just found your page and I have to say your work is amazing. I especially liked the piece in this entry and also the stuff at the top. Unfortunately I don't know a lot about art so I can't say more than I liked it. I look forward to seeing more of your work

Yah, the work continues to ROCK Howard! Oh, and thanks for the reminder about Battle Royale, that is one I planned to see but never got around to it.
