Progress Update

Sorry it's taken me so long to get some pictures up here.  The work is going slower than I thought.  Here's three that are almost done.

It's hard to get any real sense of them on the computer.  As a group sitting along the window they have an almost menacing presence.  As one friend of mine put it, " They look like they just killed the neighbours dog."

I have to admit that I've been dragging my heals a bit as well.  I wanted to use this group of work for a couple of gallery proposals and the first has to be out by mid October.  It's amazing how many things have become more important over the last couple of weeks and need my immediate attention.  Anyway I'm hoping the second group will go faster now that I've worked out the basic look of them.

Howard: Yes - they do look menacing in the pics! My first thought was: "these kids look like they belong in the Adams Family". Kinda creepy in an awesome way! I like these alot. Can't wait to see the others - and it would be really cool if you had a whole installation for a gallery of your figures. I'm glad to see you working - maybe this year you can beat the winter doldrums.

Hey Jackie, Yes I'm definetly thinking along the lines of an installation for these. I have to watch myself while I'm making them. They seem to get creepier as I go along. Maybe it's because I have them proped up all around my living room and they're starting to surround me.

Kids have always kinda creeped me out, even normal ones. Maybe that's why I love these, for me, they are like externalized versions of my anxiety about children. Well, and they look amazing!
