Art Under My Nose
There is a patch of CPR land under the south end of the Burrard Bridge that's been empty for as long as I've lived in Vancouver. It makes for a convenient shortcut when coming over from the west end to Granville Island and I have no idea how many times I've passed through this area heading from one point to another. A couple of months ago I noticed what look to be the remains of an outdoor sculpture from Granville Island. I've even posted photos of it here a couple of years ago with one of my friends posing with it.
I figured someone must of vandalized the work and left a big piece of it under the bridge. Then over the last few weeks it seemed someone had adopted the remains and was remaking it into another art project.
Well I was wrong. It turns out that the artist, Nicole Dextras is responsible for all of the work and the bridge site is a new eco-art project named, BELONGING: sous le pont.
So here are some photo's of the work.
The work has been changing over the last few weeks and should be up for a few more. So head under the bridge and check it out.
