August Mini Project Completed

Ok,  I've been  working on a a few mask that I'm donating to the Mask-4-AIDS   fundraising event taking place next month.  I'm rather happy with how they turned out.  I needed to shift artistic gears a bit there.  I feel ready to get back to work on my own projects now.  I'll have to keep that in mind for next time I'm feeling artistically drained.  Anyway here are some pics of the mask.

So now that I'm feeling like getting back to work I'll hopefully be able to update this site more often.

I think it's true that changing gears is a good idea when we're stuck or just not producing much for whatever reason. Regardless, the masks kick ass, and remind me a lot of your paintings (in the modeling and surface treatment)

I hope they bring a lot of money for the Masks-4-Aids project.

So, have you starting back to work on your other pieces yet?

Hey, do you have any shows lined up for the future? I'll be in your area (sortof) in December...it would be cool to see your work in person sometime.

No, nothing yet. Are you coming through Vancouver on your move to Washington?

I'm still not sure yet, they haven't posted the winter ferry prices yet but if it's as expensive as the summer, I may just put my stuff on a barge and fly down.

Regardless, I was in Vancouver BC many years ago for a concert...we just came in from Seattle to see the show and drove right back afterwards so I didn't get to check the city out or anything but I've always wanted to come back...so even if I don't drive through on the move, I know I'll drive up from time to time. I really want to check out the galleries, you guys have a great rep.

December is not really the best time to visit Vancouver, but then the weather won't be much different to where you'll be living.

Yeah, you'll be a lot closer. Seattle is like only a three hour drive from here. I'm not sure how long a drive you are from Seattle.

Well, I drove to centralia from Seatac in just under an hour...but there was no traffic. Still, I haven't lived on a road system for so long that I know I'm going to want to take lots of road trips. I know, gas and the environment etc. I could always go by Amtrak (though it probably doesn't go into BC?) but I love to drive and it's been so so long since I've had the opportunity.

There is train service from Seattle to Vancouver. That's the way I'd go even though it's a bit longer. There is also ferry service from Seattle to Victoria which is suppose to be a very nice trip.
